_Q&A

Do you remember the moment when you found out you were making the move upto WorldTour?

It was already after the first day after the race in France last year, the nations cup which I won. (L’Etoile d’Or) I had a call with the manager of the team. I really enjoy it from the last minute of the call. Then they proposed me a contract, which for sure directly I said I want to join the team. So this was the first moment, and for sure I would never forget this.

Share us the story about how you develop to become a pro rider?

To be a pro rider for sure it’s like hard. It’s like you have to look on everything what you do, to give all the best from you. I was fighting for this for my whole career. Already just when I start cycling, I wanted to be a pro rider. To fight in the biggest races, to be in a team we should fight for the big victory. And I am really happy that Bahrain Victorious is like this. I can be really happy that I am part of this team.

“I’m such a type of rider that I want to win every race in which I start, or at least fight for the best possible place.” How do you motivate yourself?

Every race which I start I want to be in the best shape, to be like really helpful if I have to or to fight for the victory, I want to be like in a good shape in all the season. I hope it can be, of course not like every race 100%, because it’s not possible. Also I am young, so I am learning all the time. My maximum level, for sure I think is not maximum which I have now. I can prove more.

How did you manage to become an expert against the clock?

I want to be the best time trialist in the world. I want to fight with the biggest names in the world. I think I can do it of course with the hard work, I can be really good at it. So that can happen of course not this year, but I have long career behind me so I think I can do it without any problem.

If you could pick one race to win in your career, which would it be?

The race which I want to win I think is World Championships time trial, but also the Classics are really nice. I think they really suits me. So I think one of the biggest Classics, and I think also World Championships time trial would be really really nice.

What do you enjoy doing away from the bike?

When I am away from the bike, I really like watching different kind of sports. I can say I am kind of good at every sport. Also I like to cook, it’s really nice. Also I like to do something with the bike like cleaning, repairing the bike. I really like and I really enjoy it. Also spend the time with family and my girlfriend when I have some time.
