Bahrain Victorious line up for the four-stage Deutschland Tour from the Hanseatic city of Stralsund to Nuremberg, from the Baltic coast to Franconia covering a total of 727-kilometers. (August 26th – 29th).

Over the course of the four stages, the riders will fight for the prestigious red jersey. The opening stage from Stralsund covers 191km, which is expected to offer a bunch sprint finale in Shewerin. The second stage starts in Sangerhausen with a slightly uphill finish in Ilmenau but is expected to see another sprint.

Stage 3 starts where the second stage is concluded, featuring the highest point of the race. The cobblestones along the course may suit the classics style riders, but the sprinters will be holding on during the ascent on Rathsberg, to the straight finish on Luitpoldstrasse. The final Stage runs 160 kilometeres long, but with inclines up to 20% and may suit the aggressive riding style seen in the Flemish classics.

Dylan Teuns; “I am looking forward to the upcoming Deutschland Tour. My confidence and my shape are good after my good performance at the Tour of Poland. It will be an interesting race for sure. I’m motivated, and we will see how it will go on the harder stages. I’m sure that we will all be strong there with Phil Bauhaus for the sprints and show all our strength and experience on every stage.”

Phil Bauhaus; “It’s always nice for me to race in Germany. There are not many races in Germany for World Tour teams, and this race is the one that makes me super motivated. The first two stages look like a great opportunity for good sprints. With huge support from Marcel Sieberg, Marco Haller who is also good in such sprints, with Dylan, Hermann and Domen we might be really strong, and we strongly believe doing good results on Tour of Germany”.

Franco Pellizotti, Sports Director; “We are heading the Deutschland Tour with big ambitions and goals like as we have proved throughout this season. Dylan Teuns will be our leader, and Phil Bauhaus is here for the sprinting fireworks, especially for the first two stages. Somebody might say that this race is not too hard and not a WorldTour race, but we might expect lots of stress at all flat stages, especially stage 3 as the hardest and most demanding one. Phil Bauhaus, our sprinter, is coming after great wins this season, and Dylan Teuns, a stage winner at Tour de France, is still keeping the good shape.”
