Team Bahrain Victorious are pleased to announce a new partnership with Villars Palace, located in Villars-sur-Ollon in the Swiss Alps, which will become the team’s Official Performance and Recovery Hub. Renowned for its world-class hospitality, altitude environment, and exceptional wellness facilities, Villars Palace provides an ideal setting for professional athletes seeking to train, recover, and prepare for competition.
Through the partnership, Team Bahrain Victorious riders and staff will have access to the world-class facilities at the Villars Palace Longevity Performance Hub, a state of the art destination designed to support recovery, performance, wellness and long-term athlete health. The facility combines advanced recovery technologies with comprehensive performance testing and personalised wellness services, providing an ideal environment for elite athletes looking to optimise both training and recovery.
The partnership comes at a key point in the season, with riders preparing for the second half of the year following a demanding Giro d’Italia campaign. Among the first riders to take advantage of the facilities will be Damiano Caruso, who delivered another remarkable performance at the Giro d’Italia at nearly 39 years of age. In the final season of his professional career, the Italian will use Villars Palace as a recovery and training base as he prepares for the Tour de France.
Alongside the recovery facilities available through the Longevity Performance Hub, Caruso will also benefit from the exceptional training environment offered by the Swiss Alps. The roads surrounding Villars provide some of the finest riding in Europe and sit at the heart of one of cycling’s most iconic regions, with the 2026 Tour de Suisse concluding in Villars, further underlining the area’s reputation as a premier destination for cyclists.
The Villars Palace Longevity Performance Hub offers a range of recovery and performance services including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cryotherapy, infrared light therapy, performance diagnostics and athlete testing, all integrated within a five-star hospitality environment designed to support athletes before, during and after competition.
Milan Eržen, Managing Director of Team Bahrain Victorious, said:
“The facilities at Villars Palace are amazing for both professional and age group athletes looking for a great retreat with five-star facilities to recuperate, train and recover. Villars Palace has created an environment that can support our riders through key recovery protocols, and we look forward to working together.
Recovery is a fundamental part of performance. The team is constantly looking for ways to help riders maximise adaptation, freshness and overall wellbeing throughout the season. Villars Palace has invested in state of the art facilities that allow our riders to train and recover at the highest level, particularly following the demands of a Grand Tour.”
Matt Brown, Head Doctor of Team Bahrain Victorious, added:
“Successful training camps are about much more than just the hours spent on the bike. Villars Palace brings together exceptional training, recovery and rehabilitation facilities in one unique location. Access to hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cryotherapy and infrared light therapy, together with the expertise of the Villars Longevity Clinic, provides valuable support for athlete recovery and rehabilitation following injury. Combined with outstanding riding routes, breathtaking Alpine scenery and a world-class hotel environment, it offers all the ingredients for a successful performance training camp. We are excited to continue working with Villars Palace in the future, both through additional training camps and by utilising the excellent recovery and rehabilitation facilities available to support our athletes.”
Stephan Post, Managing Director VAR Group & Châlet RoyAlp, said:

Dr Ilias Kanellos, Scientific Director of Villars Longevity Clinic, commented:

It aims to sustainably enhance recovery capacity, resilience, and overall performance, while supporting long-term health, wellbeing and athletic longevity.
At the heart of our approach, athletes complement conventional recovery practices with advanced technologies including cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and personalised recovery protocols.
