Monday 17 August 2020 – After having competed in two Monument races as the ‘Milano-Sanremo’ and ‘Il Lombardia’, Team Bahrain McLaren will stay in Italy for riding the ‘Giro dell’Emilia’ tomorrow, Tuesday 18 August. As a tradition, this well-known Italian one-day race will feature the challenging finishing loop, including the steep climb to ‘San Luca’ and will have the final demanding circuit to repeat 4 times, as the key moment of the day.
Sports Director Franco Pellizotti comments: “I think it is one of the most demanding and spectacular races on the Italian calendar. I remember well this tough course that I did several times as a rider. You need strong legs, but also riding with intelligence and team spirit. You need also experience as our leader Eros Capecchi has got. He’s a talented climber and he can do well on that kind of course. His teammates will work to support him. The level of starters is always very high and this will make the race even more selective. With teams restricted to 6 riders, we have to work well together and give our all especially on the final circuit in San Luca”.
Team Bahrain McLaren line up for Giro dell’Emilia: Enrico Battaglin, Eros Capecchi, Scott Davies, Domen Novak, Luka Pibernik, Fred Wright.
