Bahrain Victorious is pleased to announce the signing of young Polish talent Filip Maciejuk, who will be joining the team for the 2022-2023 seasons.
The 21-year-old – who has spent the last four seasons with the Continental Team Leopard Pro Cycling – has now signed his first World Tour contract with Bahrain Victorious for the next two seasons.
Filip Maciejuk is a time trial specialist. His skills against the clock are backed by some solid results. When riding in youth categories, he grabbed a bronze medal at the World Championships Men Juniors in 2017 and was also ITT National Champion men juniors for two consecutive years (16-17).
This season, Filip won the General Classification of L’Etoile d’Or (a UCI Nations Cup race), taking the opening Individual Time Trial. He was also silver medallist at the Polish National ITT Championships.
Among his top results achieved in previous seasons, Filip took his first pro win, the time trial stage of the Szlakiem Walk Majora Hubala where he was 2nd in GC, and as U23, he won the GC of the Carpathian Couriers Race in 2018.
From Poland, where he is currently riding at the Tour de Pologne wearing the jersey of the Poland National Team, Filip Maciejuk commented on this signing:
“I am extremely happy to join Bahrain Victorious team, it is one of the best teams in the world, with great opportunities to win the biggest races. I believe it is the best environment where young riders can smoothly adapt to the highest level of racing, which will certainly help me to develop. There are a lot of experienced riders from whom I can learn. I am really grateful for the trust and opportunity to start my professional cycling career in this team.
I would like to thank my team Leopard Pro Cycling for those wonderful 4 years, where I could learn a lot and where I felt like at home.”
