Fresh from a stage victory at the Tour de l’Avenir, the 20-year-old Finnish rider Kasper Borremans will follow the same pathway as his teammate Seth Dunwoody, whose promotion to the WorldTour was announced recently. Borremans is another product of the team’s long-term talent development programme, having first joined Cannibal B Victorious at junior level before progressing to the Development Team and now making the step up to the highest level of professional cycling.

Born in Finland to a Finnish mother and Belgian father, Borremans describes himself as a versatile rider with climbing ability, a strong time trial and a useful sprint. He also enjoys racing the Classics. His potential was already clear during his first season with Cannibal B Victorious, when he finished third at the E3 Saxo Bank Classic U19. In 2024, his second year as a junior, he became Finnish national champion in both the road race and time trial.
Borremans started cycling at the age of 14, having previously competed in triathlon. He also enjoyed cyclocross and mountain biking before focusing on road cycling.

“Four years ago, I was still a multisport athlete starting my cycling journey with Cannibal B Victorious. I could never have imagined where it would take me,” said Borremans.
“The two years with the Development Team have been a huge part of my growth as a rider and as a person. I’ve learned so much, raced at a higher level and had some amazing experiences along the way.
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. I’m proud to continue under the wings of Bahrain Victorious, the group that has believed in me from the beginning. I’m really excited for this next chapter, to continue developing, working hard and hopefully achieving great things with the team.”

Borremans’ 2026 season has already been a breakthrough campaign. Alongside his stage victory at the Tour de l’Avenir, he finished third at GP Capodarco, won the mountains classification at the Giro Ciclistico della Valle d’Aosta – Mont Blanc and took third place at Flèche Ardennaise. He also finished third overall at the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt.
His progress was already evident in 2025, when he won the youth classification at the Tour of Małopolska and finished second overall. In 2024, he attended the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships in Abu Dhabi, where he won the bronze medal.

Borremans has already gained experience with the Bahrain Victorious WorldTour squad, joining the team for selected races during the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Those opportunities allowed him to familiarise himself with the demands of professional racing while continuing his development within the team’s structure.
His promotion is the latest example of Bahrain Victorious’ long-term commitment to developing young riders through a clear pathway from Cannibal B Victorious at U19 level, through the Continental Development Team and ultimately to the WorldTour.
