Bahrain Victorious is pleased to announce that Seth Dunwoody will join the WorldTour team for the 2027 season, stepping up from the Bahrain Victorious Development Team.
The 20-year-old northern Irishman rider has demonstrated his talent since joining Cannibal B Victorious, where he claimed victory at the E3 Saxo Classic Juniors, highlighting the strength of Bahrain Victorious’ talent development pathway. Having progressed through the Cannibal B Victorious U19 programme and the Bahrain Victorious Development Team, his promotion to the WorldTour represents the natural next step in the team’s long-term development structure.
A Classics specialist and accomplished time triallist, Dunwoody is also a powerful all-round rider. Standing at 1.92 metres, he thrives on demanding terrain, particularly on cobbles and exposed roads. His 2026 campaign has confirmed his potential with runner-up finishes at Paris-Roubaix Espoirs and Gent-Wevelgem/Kattekoers-Ieper.
This season has already been outstanding for the northern Irishman. He was crowned Irish Elite Road Race Champion and won the U23 European Points Race title on the track in Cottbus, while also taking silver in the Irish National Time Trial Championships.
In 2025, Dunwoody claimed stage victories at the Giro Next Gen, Turul României and Circuit des Ardennes, while also finishing second on a stage of the Turul României and third on a stage of the Tour de l’Avenir.

The promotion of another home-grown rider to the WorldTour is the latest milestone in a project the Bahrain Victorious management has been building ever since the creation of Cannibal B Victorious, providing young riders with a clear pathway from the junior ranks to the highest level of professional cycling.
Francis Van Mechelen, Sports Director of Cannibal B Victorious, recalls how Dunwoody first joined the team:
“It’s quite a special story. I was tipped off by an old Belgian fisherman who had settled in Ireland after finding the love of his life. He had seen Seth racing as an Under-17 rider and told me about this talented young cyclist.
I invited Seth to Belgium for a race, and I was immediately impressed by the type of rider he was. He took his first UCI victory for Cannibal B Victorious at “Penn Ar Bed” in France, and it was clear that many more would follow.
Even now that he’s in the Bahrain Victorious Development Team, I still have frequent contact with Seth and the whole Dunwoody family. They are wonderful people, and I’m convinced he has a brilliant future ahead of him in professional cycling.”
During the 2026 season, Dunwoody has already gained valuable experience with the Bahrain Victorious WorldTour squad, competing in races including the AlUla Tour, Tour des Alpes-Maritimes, Classic Var, Ename Samyn Classic, Danilith Nokere Koerse and Ronde van Limburg. Those appearances further confirmed his ability to compete at the highest level and reinforced the management’s belief that he is ready to make the step up to the WorldTour.
