Bahrain Victorious Development Team set for Tour de l’Avenir debut

The Bahrain Victorious Development Team will make its debut at the prestigious Tour de l’Avenir, taking place from August 20 to 26.

Widely regarded as one of the most important races on the U23 calendar, the Tour de l’Avenir has this year introduced a new format, allowing development teams to compete alongside national selections for the first time.

This year’s edition features seven stages covering 926.2 kilometres and 13,532 metres of climbing, taking the riders from Normandy to the Italian Alps. The parcours offers opportunities for every type of rider, from sprinters to climbers, while also including a demanding mountain time trial on the Col de la Pierre Carrée, finishing on gravel.

The queen stage will feature the iconic Col de l’Iseran, the highest paved mountain pass in Europe, and is expected to play a key role in the battle for the general classification.

The Bahrain Victorious Development Team arrives with an ambitious squad ready to compete for stage victories as well as the general classification.

Thomas Capra and Seth Dunwoody will lead the team’s ambitions on stages suited to the sprinters, supported by Valentin Hofer. Fresh from podium finishes at GP Capodarco, Jan Jackowiak and Kasper Borremans will target the mountain stages and the general classification, with support from Balint Feldhoffer.

The lineup is largely the same as the one that competed at the Giro Next Gen, with Thomas Capra replacing Leonardo Consolidani.
