Team Bahrain Victorious is pleased to announce the signing of Spanish rider Pau Miquel on a two-year contract for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
The 25-year-old turned professional in 2022 with Equipo Kern Pharma, having joined the team as a trainee in August 2021. Over the past three and a half years, he has not only shown his finishing speed, but also the ability to handle both classics and Grand Tour style climbs.
Miquel enjoyed his best season so far in 2024, highlighted by a brilliant 3rd place in a sprint in Córdoba on Stage 7 of La Vuelta a España, behind Wout van Aert and Mathias Vacek. In the same race, he also placed 4th twice in sprints (S2 in Ourém and S17 in Santander).
In addition, he made the podium at the Prueba Villafranca–Ordiziako Klasika, and was 4th on S2 of Itzulia Basque Country. Other impressive results include top-five finishes in one-day races such as the Grand Prix du Morbihan, Boucles de l’Aulne–Châteaulin, and Clàssica Terres de l’Ebre. In 2023, he was 5th at the Grand Prix Cycliste La Marseillaise.
Miquel expressed his enthusiasm about stepping up to the WorldTour with Bahrain Victorious:
“Signing with Team Bahrain Victorious is a dream come true. Since I started cycling, it has been a goal of mine to race for one of the best teams in the world. I truly believe this is the ideal place to grow and take the next step in my career. I cannot wait to start working with the team and achieve great things together.”
Milan Eržen, Managing Director of Team Bahrain Victorious:
“Pau has already shown great potential, and we believe he will continue to develop into a strong rider at the WorldTour level. His versatility makes him a valuable addition to our roster, and we’re excited to see the impact he can bring across different types of races.”
